This Cookie Policy explains how NestMatch Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar browser storage technologies, such as localStorage, to remember your preferences and consent choices.
2. What we use today
Some of what we use is strictly necessary and is exempt from prior consent under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the EU ePrivacy Directive:
- Authentication session — set by NextAuth when you sign in, so that you stay signed in across pages.
- Anonymous device ID — a random identifier stored in
localStorageso we can deliver results and remember your consent if you use NestMatch without an account. - Consent record — a small entry in
localStoragerecording the version of the Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted, so we don’t prompt you again. - UI preferences — e.g. dismissing this cookie notice.
Analytics (optional, with your consent) — if you accept the optional analytics cookie in our banner, we record anonymous usage events: which pages you visit, how far you get through our moving quiz, and roughly how long you spend on the site. These are tied to an anonymous device ID. This helps us understand where people drop off and how to improve NestMatch. Declining only disables analytics — everything else keeps working.
3. Third-party services
Some pages embed third-party services (for example, Mapbox maps, Google Sign-In, image providers). These services may set their own cookies governed by their own privacy and cookie policies.
We use two third-party analytics tools — PostHog and Vercel Analytics — but they only run after you accept the optional analytics cookie, and they use the same consent choice as our own analytics. We also use Sentry for error and performance monitoring; it runs automatically for technical reliability, does not place analytics or advertising cookies, and we do not use session replay.
4. Analytics
We use first-party analytics together with PostHog and Vercel Analytics, described in section 2, but only after you accept the optional analytics cookie in our banner. All three tools are controlled by the same consent choice, and you can change it at any time using the control in section 5. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share your data with advertising networks.
5. Managing cookies
You can clear cookies and browser storage at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out and clear your saved consent on this device.
You can also change your analytics choice at any time using the control below, or the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer:
